
Denise May Levenick
The Family Curator, Heirloom Preservation Expert
Denise May Levenick has been researching and writing about her family history for forty years. She is the creator of TheFamilyCurator.com, author of two books and numerous articles on caring for family treasures, and a member of the faculty for the 2016 Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP).
An inherited trunk filled with family photos, letters, documents, and personal artifacts prompted Denise’s interest in using personal and family collections for genealogy research. She has adapted professional archival techniques to the home situation in her blog and books, How to Archive Family Keepsakes and How to Archive Family Photos.
Denise chairs the Suzanne Winsor Freeman Memorial Genealogy Grant founded in 2010 to assist young genealogists seeking to advance their genealogical education. She is a former high school English and Journalism teacher, and a holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature. Denise lives in Pasadena, California.
