Darris has a Bachelor degree in Family & Community History. He worked as a British reference consultant at the Family History Library for 15 years, and was a co-founder of the FamilySearch wiki. Darris helped create the “Colt Game” as a tool to teach computer engineers about family history and the challenges that genealogists encounter.
He is the only person currently accredited by ICAPGen for Wales, and the second person to ever pass the test. He attended a course on Welsh Family History at the University of Wales in Aberystwyth. Darris serves on the board for the International Society for British Genealogy and Family History. He has lectured in the United States, Canada, England and Wales. During his research trips to Wales time is always spent in various record offices and libraries locating under used records and in graveyards transcribing tombstone inscriptions.
Darris is presently a customer development specialist, a freelance genealogist and family history instructor.
